JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a hands-on
Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our accounting department, including AR, AP, cash, and general ledger functions. This is a newly formed role critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with US GAAP.
The ideal candidate combines an operational mindset with strong analytical skills to monitor and interpret financial data. This position also plays a key role in partnering with cross-functional teams to support business objectives in a dynamic health and beauty environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversee and review daily accounting activities related to recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information.
- Partner with the Controller to guide in-house and outsourced accounting staff, promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Complete and review month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses as part of the monthly close process.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.
- Standardize and enhance processes to drive accuracy, efficiency, and timely financial reporting.
- Collaborate with Brand, Digital, and Logistics teams to resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and related processes.
- Assist the Controller with annual budgeting, external audits, and preparation of required tax documentation.
- Assist in monthly compliance matters involving U.S. sales tax and Canadian GST/HST filings, as needed.
- Support cash management and treasury-related activities, as needed.
- Prepare accurate, timely ad hoc reports and analyses, as needed.

Requirements
Education - Experience - Other Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a blend of public and industry experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial statements, and core accounting principles.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and process integrity.
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of transactional data; strong financial modeling skills a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines, both independently and through a team.
- Solid understanding of accounting systems, including set-up, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Retail, consumer products, or e-commerce experience a plus.
