The Brand Inspection Division is responsible for inspecting all cattle, horses, mules, burros, and alternative livestock when there is a change of ownership of the animals or they are transported over 75 miles from their home location, are transported to a location outside Colorado, or are transported to slaughter. In addition, the Division administers Colorado's approximately 32,000 registered livestock brands, licenses public livestock markets, certified feedlots and alternative livestock facilities, presides over the sale of stray livestock, compiles and distributes information concerning missing or stolen livestock, and collects brand inspection and other fees and assessments owed to the Division, the Colorado Beef Council, and the Colorado Horse Development Authority.
The position is responsible for reconciling and entering country inspection reports for four inspection areas and reconciling and entering sale barn reports for three public livestock markets. Position is responsible for scanning documents to the Division's databases, responding to customer questions at the counter, on the telephone, and by email, and opening incoming mail. Position is responsible for maintaining the Division's informational brochures concerning brands and branding, alternative livestock, and fence law issues. This position understands and implements the OIT requirements for digital accessibility as appropriate for the role.
Salary: Hourly $24.45 - $29.34 Annually $50,856.00 - $61,032.00
Minimum Qualification: Proven experience, knowledge, skills:
Preferred Qualifications: Administrative experience working for the State of Colorado.
