Southend Pharmacy is a Houston-based, independent compounding pharmacy specializing in sterile medications and personalized pharmaceutical solutions. Licensed in over 30 states, we partner with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality, third party-tested compounds, including GLP-1 therapies. This is a full-time remote role for a Compounding Pharmacy Sales Manager . The Compounding Pharmacy Sales Manager will lead sales efforts, expand market share, and develop strategic partnerships with medical practices, clinics, and healthcare providers. This individual will play a pivotal role in promoting Southend Pharmacy’s compounded products and services while managing a team of remote sales representatives and achieving sales targets.
Please note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, including F-1 student visas (CPT/OPT) or H-1B visas. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for current or future sponsorship.
*The preferred candidate will reside in Houston, Texas and be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to promote compounding pharmacy services.
- Identify, target, and build relationships with healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, clinics, wellness centers, veterinarians).
- Educate providers on the benefits, use, and availability of compounded medications.
- Conduct in-person visits, virtual meetings, and presentations to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust strategies as needed.
- Represent South End Pharmacy at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and generate regular performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company guidelines during the sales process.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience within the compounding pharmaceuticals and/or cash pay pharmacies, with a successful track record of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets in highly regulated markets.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing and developing remote sales teams, including setting KPIs, conducting performance evaluations, and driving team performance across multiple territories.
- Strong knowledge of compounding pharmacy practices, regulations (FDA, USP <795> , <797> , <800>), and key therapeutic categories offered by compound pharmacies, including the ability to articulate product benefits to prescribers, clinics, and other healthcare providers.
- Experience in building, scaling, and optimizing B2B sales strategies specifically within the compound pharmacy space—leveraging CRM tools, market data, and customer segmentation to drive growth.
- Experience establishing a network of prescribers, healthcare professionals, or clinics familiar with or currently utilizing compound medications, with a proven ability to nurture relationships and convert leads into long-term partnerships.
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance reimbursement challenges, cash-pay models, and pharmacy benefit navigation related to compounded medications.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, or a related field required. Advanced degree or certifications in pharmaceutical sales or leadership is a plus.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with compliance, pharmacy operations, and marketing teams to ensure sales strategies align with regulatory standards and business goals.
