Dental Hygienist
Location: Suburbs of Birmingham, AL
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: M-F 8 to 5pm

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join a warm, team-oriented dental practice just outside of Birmingham, AL. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values meaningful patient relationships, delivers exceptional care, and thrives in a collaborative, upbeat work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Dental Hygienist, your role is essential to maintaining the oral health and comfort of our patients. Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Performing professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
• Assessing oral health conditions and identifying early signs of gum disease or other issues.
• Administering fluoride treatments and applying sealants when appropriate.
• Educating patients on proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral hygiene practices.
• Taking and developing digital dental X-rays.
• Maintaining thorough and accurate patient records.
• Adhering to all infection control and sterilization protocols to ensure a safe, hygienic workspace.
• Collaborating with dentists and other team members to deliver comprehensive care and an outstanding patient experience.

Tasks You May Be Involved In:

• Supporting community outreach or in-office wellness programs promoting dental health education.
• Assisting in integrating new technologies or techniques into hygiene protocols.
• Participating in team meetings focused on improving workflow and patient satisfaction.
• Helping train or mentor new hygiene staff or dental assistants.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical dental hygiene experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient care.
• Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
