Job Description

DMV Manager / Driver's Education Instructor

I?isa?vik College, as a business partner with the Alaska DMV, seeks a dedicated DMV Manager / Driver's Education Instructor to provide vital driver licensing servicesincluding REAL ID processing, DMV licensing transactions, and driver education instructionacross Utqia?vik and North Slope villages.

This position requires strong administrative skills, community outreach, and expertise in teaching both classroom and behind-the-wheel driving courses, supporting compliance as an Alaska DMV-approved training Center.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • DMV Coordination & REAL ID Processing
  • Driver's Education Instruction & Program Management

Knowledge/skills/abilities required include:

  • Strong understanding of Alaska DMV processes, policies, and regulations
  • Knowledge of driver licensing processes
  • Solid foundation in driver's education instruction
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to pass and complete DMV-required training and certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to support I?isa?vik College's mission

Education/certificates/experience required:

  • Associates degree in relevant field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • 3-5 years' experience with DMV processes
  • 1 year of instruction experience
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License held for at least one year, with a clean driving record.

Physical requirements include:

  • Sitting, standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Talk and hear; climb or balance
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required

Environmental conditions include:

  • Work indoors with a usually moderate noise level
