Position: Finance Manager - Trailers Business Unit

POSITION SUMMARY American Trailer World, Inc,. a Bain Capital portfolio company, is looking for a top-tier Finance talent to join as Finance Manager in our Trailers Business Unit. This role is a significant opportunity for an aspiring future CFO. You will be exposed to and influence a wide range of business functions, including Commercial, Sales Operations, Operations, Engineering, and Product, all through the critical lens of Finance.
Our Trailers BU comprises five businesses that together are the nation's leading trailer manufacturer. In your role as Finance Manager, you will serve as a go-to Finance partner to members of the Trailers BU leadership team. Reporting to a Director of Finance, your role will center around budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, decision support modeling, and recurring and ad hoc analysis for the business.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Support Trailers BU financial planning and analysis cycles through budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, decision support modeling, and analysis
- Generate reporting around key financial performance indicators and influence business leaders to continually optimize the metrics
- Monitor location-level performance including communicating and coordinating regularly with senior leadership to ensure proper operating cadence is established and maintained
- Provide regular analysis of profitability, focusing not only on the "what" but also the "why" to ensure root causes are understood and acted upon
- Represent Finance team in ad hoc projects which may include areas such as product and channel growth initiatives, pricing decisions, working capital versus sales opportunity optimization, freight efficiency, facilities capacity planning, and location invest/divest decisions
- Track and report financial results of key initiatives
- Investigate and partner with other functions to improve data environment to enable efficient processes and more effective outputs
- Manage projects to drive better financial performance, including defining project goals, generating timelines, influencing cross-functional subject matter experts, presenting proposed solutions to senior leadership, and supporting implementation of plans
- Ensure month-end results and associated reporting are properly communicated and analyzed
- Clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generating alternatives and driving positive change
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree is required
- 5+ years of experience in an analytical role supporting financial and business decisions
- Experience in investment banking, consulting, business unit FP&A or Corp FP&A preferred
- Advanced financial modeling and ability to work with large sets of data required
- Experience working with SQL, Python, and PowerBI preferred, though not required
KEY COMPETENCIES - Ability to understand business models, including commercial strategy and operations, and form links to financial implications
- Proficiency in financial management concepts and familiarity with accounting concepts
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with business leadership and staff
- Effectively handles competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Ability to switch gears quickly and work cross-functionally with different departments and functions within the Trailers BU
- Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills; incumbent must be sought after as a subject-matter expert who can be relied upon to provide valuable insight and recommendations
- Ability to complete duties with limited direct supervision and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment
