Position Purpose: 

Responsible for maintaining and operating heavy equipment used in operations, including; skid loaders, backhoes and front end loaders used in industrial settings. Work duties may require minor mechanical maintenance and repairs. 

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Ability to operate heavy, power-driven equipment to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain and repair heavy, power-driven equipment.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate site conditions or changes in conditions to management.
• Ensures the documentation of equipment maintenance history through the use of the CMMS System.
• Works independent of or with operations and contractors.
• Possible other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

• Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and works near moving mechanical parts.
• Possibility of exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions such as ice and snow.

Education/Experience/Background:  

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• 2 to 5 years in an industrial environment or related work experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  

• Operational characteristics of a variety of heavy, power driven equipment.
• Maintenance requirements of heavy, power driven equipment.
• Methods used in general industrial work.
• Understanding of occupational hazards and safe work practices.
• Must be able to participate in after-hours emergency call-outs.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:  

• Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
