Job Description

Weyerhaeuser is a recognized leader in the North American wood products industry. We are seeking a Maintenance Superintendent (Maintenance Manager) to lead the entire Maintenance Department at our state-of-the-art lumber facility in Millport, AL. This position carries full responsibility for maintenance operations across the site and reports directly to the Mill Manager. About Millport Located approximately 50 miles northwest of Tuscaloosa and about 100 miles southwest of Birmingham, Millport offers a close-knit community with access to outdoor recreation, shopping, dining, and collegiate activities. Key Responsibilities Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure process reliability. Improve key performance indicators and optimize department budget. Coach, mentor, and develop team members to build capability and engagement. Manage and participate in capital projects. Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures. Maintain and enhance the computerized maintenance management system. Collaborate with production teams to maximize productivity and minimize waste. Identify and resolve safety, environmental, quality, and production issues promptly. Lead a diverse team of approximately 50 associates, including 6 salaried employees, fostering inclusion and collaboration. Build and streamline processes to improve efficiency and reliability across maintenance operation REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED or higher. Ideal candidate will have minimum eight (8) years of continuous related maintenance experience, while demonstrating progressive leadership experience in an industrial environment, including at least two (2) years in maintenance manager/superintendent role. Strong commitment to safety, with a proven record of improving safety performance and fostering a safe working environment for all team members. Demonstrated datadriven leadership, using metrics and analysis to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC programming fundamentals. Expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. Experience managing capital projects and delivering measurable business results. Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to implement effective corrective actions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team, create a culture of continuous improvement, and build strong engagement through people development. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other Windowsbased applications. Ability to support a 24/7 operating environment, including weekends and holidays as required. Critical to have proven experience developing team members through coaching, mentoring, structured training, and establishing clear processes that strengthen performance and capability. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Experience in wood products maintenance or a similar heavy industrial environment. What We Offer: Compensation : This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $119,088-$178,774 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. Paid Time Off or Vacation : We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
