POLICE --- DETECTIVE - (Police Officer I/II)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As an LPD Detective, you will:

  • Collaborate with outside agencies, specialized units, and community partners
  • Conduct criminal investigations
    • Interviewing suspects, victims, witnesses
  • Gather, analyze, and preserve evidence to support successful case outcomes
  • Maintain detailed case files
  • Prepare investigative reports
  • Prepare and execute arrest and search warrants, and other legal documents
  • Work closely with Prosecutors to develop a strong case(s) for court
    • Testify in court, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree in criminal justice, criminology, psychology, sociology, or related field PLUS two (2) years' law enforcement experience as a detective/investigator OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent accreditation PLUS three (3) years of consecutive employment as a Police Officer I/II with the Lebanon Police Department (LPD) OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent PLUS four (4) years' experience (civil or military) in a "full-time" Criminal Investigation Division/Department (CID) or Investigative Unit

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Class "A" or "B" Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) License
