Bring Design-driven Innovation to Light

Metro Light & Power is a design-forward manufacturer of custom LED lighting systems for hospitality and commercial interiors. We partner with leading furniture manufacturers, designers, and architects to bring lighting concepts to life in some of the most visually compelling spaces in the country.

We’re seeking a Product Manager to lead the development and execution of high-quality, design-oriented LED lighting solutions. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about physical product development and eager to work at the intersection of design, engineering, and manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

  • Interpret design intent, technical requirements, and client specifications into clear product configurations
  • Generate lighting fixtures/systems to fit clients’ shop drawings, and configure quotations
  • Coordinate with our offshore manufacturing teams in China and Vietnam on prototyping, production schedules, and quality control
  • Mock up and test new product configurations and design details with engineering and design teams
  • Collaborate directly with clients, engineers, and designers to ensure aesthetic, technical, and commercial success
  • Help identify opportunities for product line expansion and refinement based on market trends and project feedback

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in product management, ideally with physical products such as lighting, furniture, controls, other electronics or architectural components
  • Familiar with LED lighting (CCT, CRI, Lm, etc), understanding of LED controls a plus (e.g., 0-10V, DALI, DMX)
  • Exceptionally organized and comfortable managing many moving parts and tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; bonus if you know Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or AutoCAD
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and client-facing teams
  • Holds a BA/BS in Industrial Design, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field
  • Familiarity with offshore manufacturing or custom product workflows is highly valued

Why Metro Light & Power?

You’ll join a small, agile team with a big creative impact. Our work appears in five-star hotels, high-end office interiors, across North America. You’ll have autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to shape lighting products that combine elegance with innovation.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Opportunity for growth in a high-impact role
  • Creative, collaborative environment
  • Direct exposure to design, engineering, and international manufacturing
  • On-site/remote role based in Englewood, NJ (easily accessible from NYC or Northern NJ)
