Job Description

Location: ONSITE – Kalamazoo, MI

Pay: Negotiable depending on direct-related experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality processes and documentation for new programs and existing operations.
  • Support manufacturing process development and continuous improvement to meet quality and process metrics.
  • Investigate and resolve customer, internal, and supplier quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Drive preventative actions and continuous improvement in manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Manage non-conformance inventory, disposition, and cost control.
  • Oversee purchase, calibration, and certification of gaging equipment, including CMM programming.
  • Maintain up-to-date gage calibration logs.
  • Coordinate daily inspections, testing, and approval of components and products with quality inspectors.
  • Collaborate across departments to support quality objectives.
  • Utilize quality management and SPC software daily.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering bachelor’s degree, with technical and mathematical focus preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a quality department in an ISO registered environment.
  • High volume workload requires conscientious attitude with accuracy and attention to detail.

Knowledge and experience on:

  • ISO 9001 & ISO 13485
  • Process capability and effect on processes, production, equipment, and assembly
  • Problem solving methods (5Y, Fishbone, 8D, etc.)
  • Ability to be self-managed and directed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication skills (oral, written, technical)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to be self-directed
  • Customer focus and continuous improvement approach

Preferred Skills

  • Six Sigma certifications a plus (green belt or higher).
  • Experience with machining, fabrication, and assembly operations a plus.
