The Registered Nurse in Oncology provides skilled nursing care to patients, working 3x12 night shifts. The role involves a high daily patient census and requires working every other weekend. The RN will float within scope to meet facility needs and must possess strong chemotherapy and IV therapy/infusion skills.

Responsibilities:
- Administration of chemotherapy
- Body fluid handling post chemotherapy
- Continuous infusion of chemotherapy
- IV push administration of chemotherapy
- Management/disposal cytotoxic spills
- Monitor chemotherapy
- Oral administration of chemotherapy
- Recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
- Accessing ports
- Administration of coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, blood/blood product administration
- Care and management of ports
- Central line blood draw
- Central Line/Implanted Line Care
- PICC line care
- Starting IVs
- Patient assessments
- Medication administration
- Treatment planning
- Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois or in the application process
- Required Chemotherapy Skills/Experience: Administration of chemotherapy, Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy, Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy, IV push administration of chemotherapy, Management/disposal cytotoxic spills, Monitor chemotherapy, Oral Administration of chemotherapy, Recognize/ communicate abnormal lab values.
- Required IV Therapy/Infusion Skills/Experience: Accessing Ports, Administration of coagulation factors, Antifungals, Antivirals, Blood/Blood product administration, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, PICC line care, Starting IVs.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- OCN certification
- ONS/ONCC certification
Special Considerations:
- Will work every other weekend
- Will float as needed within scope
- RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without pay
