Role Overview
Design, build, and maintain responsive web interfaces under direction of senior developers. Contribute to Ghost.io theme updates, support React component work, and assist with simple API integrations. Learn on the job how to integrate AI-powered widgets and optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement HTML/CSS/JavaScript layouts for responsive page designs.
• Modify and update Ghost.io themes; handle basic Handlebars templates.
• Assist in integrating existing AI APIs (e.g., chatbots, simple recommendation snippets).
• Perform routine troubleshooting and bug fixes under senior supervision.
• Optimize images, assets, and markup for faster load times.
• Maintain version control with Git; write clear commit messages.
• Document code changes and update technical README files.
• Stay current with basic web best practices and assist in research for new tools.
Requirements
• 0–2 years of web development experience (internships, bootcamps, personal projects).
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript; basic understanding of React components.
• Familiarity with Ghost.io or willingness to ramp up quickly on CMS theme development.
• Basic Git workflow experience (branching, pull requests).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to follow specifications and ask clarifying questions when needed.
Nice-to-Have
• Exposure to Handlebars or another templating language.
• Introductory experience with C++ or server-side scripting.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or tools (e.g., OpenAI API, TensorFlow.js).
• Basic UI/UX awareness; keen eye for clean layouts.
• Experience with responsive frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind).
