Staff Accountant

Job Type and Schedule: Full-Time Year-Round, Non-Exempt Hourly, 40 hours per week typical.

Location: Located in Williston, VT, this position will be primarily On-Site.

Rate of Pay: Starting at $30.00 - $32.50 / Hour, Commensurate on Experience.

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a mid-level position with tremendous growth potential for the right candidate. This role plays a key part in supporting our accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and providing valuable insights through analysis and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and asset tracking.
• Reconciling bank accounts, customer accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Providing support and documentation for audits, both internal and external.
• Assisting with the preparation and filing of tax-related returns.
• Monitoring and reviewing internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting procedures.
• Analyzing financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
• Supporting payroll processing.
• Other tasks as needed by the accounting team or management.

The Ideal Match for this Position can specifically Own or Support:

• Management of assigned general ledger accounts: review, balance and analyze.
• Asset file database maintenance, including purchases, disposals, depreciation & compliance with regulations.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and trend analysis.
• Data preparation for financial/insurance/retirement plan annual audits.
• Accounts receivable collections.
• Preparation of monthly and annual federal and state payroll reporting.
• 401K Plan general administration support.

Our Preferred Candidate’s Background Includes:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business-related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Commitment to providing top-notch customer service, both internal and external.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
