Job Summary
The CDL Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for operating vacuum trucks to support industrial cleaning, pipeline maintenance, and environmental response services. You’ll be expected to work safely, follow procedures, and assist in a variety of jobsite conditions.
Responsibilities
Operate vacuum trucks for liquid and sludge removal, jetting, and support of CCTV or pipeline inspection crews
Safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to disposal facilities
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations
Maintain daily driver logs, work orders, and manifest documentation
Assist with setup and general labor on job sites as needed
Comply with all PPE, safety, and environmental protocols
Troubleshoot and perform light maintenance on trucks and hoses
Work in confined spaces, lift heavy equipment, and operate in outdoor environments
Minimum Requirements
CDL Class A or Class B with tanker endorsement
1+ year of experience operating vacuum trucks or similar commercial vehicles
Understanding of DOT compliance and safety protocols
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency response
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces
Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction
Preferred Qualifications
HAZWOPER, OSHA 10/30, or similar safety certifications
Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
Prior experience in environmental services, pipeline maintenance, or municipal contracts
API 1169 Pipeline Inspector certification is a strong plus
Pipeline/Manhole Rehabilitation experience preferred
Willingness to stay overnight on select jobs about 30 days total per year
