Our Values : W elcoming, I nnovative, N ow, D iscipline, S erve, T eamwork, A uthentic, R esponsible The Vice President, Technical Operations will lead the strategic and day-to-day technical operations of the fleet, ensuring all vessels are operated safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with international maritime regulations and environmental standards. This role oversees the technical health and long-term asset management of the fleet, including dry docks, planned maintenance, technical upgrades, and emergency response readiness. Responsibilities Ensure ship operations comply with environmental policies and Safety Management System requirements. Keep the Chief Operating Officer informed of safety and environmental issues. Develop and enhance a long-term strategic framework for fleet maintenance and asset management; establish annual technical operations budgets. Manage budgets for the Technical Operations department, including forecasting. Ensure resources are adequate for safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations. Maintain fleet compliance with classification societies, international regulations, and government standards. Ensure vessels are operated safely and economically, with passenger satisfaction regarding technical services. Plan and execute maintenance systems in cooperation with management and shoreside superintendents. Upgrade technical machinery, negotiate dry dock costs, and schedule dry dockings with budgets and specifications. Employ and appraise shoreside technical personnel; ensure proper staffing of ships. Manage major shipboard emergencies and liaise with underwriters regarding casualties. Qualifications 10+ years in maritime technical operations leadership, preferably in cruise or passenger shipping. Class 1 Chief Engineer license or equivalent preferred. Strong knowledge of maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS) and classification societies. Experience managing dry docks, refits, and upgrades. Financial acumen with large budget management experience. Proven leadership of cross-functional teams across geographies. Crisis management experience is a plus. Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills. Willingness to travel extensively.
