$150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Description

As the Chief Accounting Officer, you will report directly to the CFO and oversee all accounting, financial reporting, systems, and internal controls for a growing energy and infrastructure organization. This role requires a strong background in industrial construction or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environments, and experience managing financial compliance and reporting for Department of Energy (DOE) or other large-scale federal projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, project costing, fixed assets, and financial reporting
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, preparing reports for management, board, and grant/loan compliance
• Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial insights
• Manage accounts payable and day-to-day accounting operations
• Collaborate with external partners and firms to ensure accurate tax compliance and reporting
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 23 accounting professionals

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA preferred)
• Seven (7)+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in industrial construction, EPC, energy, infrastructure, or Department of Energy projects
• Proven success managing project-based accounting and compliance for large-scale infrastructure or energy initiatives
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to convey financial insights to diverse stakeholders
