Senior Principal Software Engineer, Filesystems

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:
•Design and lead the effort on automation, CI/CD processes and tools to make our services simpler and more robust
•Mentor team members in design collaboration, code reviews, development tools and processes
•Take part in the full software development life cycle including development, test, continuous delivery and support
•Be an active member of an agile team, collaboratively realizing features through development, test and delivery

Essential Requirements
  • 13+ years of software development experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C, Shell/Perl/Python scripting

  • Strong debugging skills in system software (Filesystem)

  • Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments with strong Unix/Linux knowledge

  • Ability to triage, root cause and if possible fix issues found by QA in our internal testing

  • Effective collaboration skills to work with QA for getting releases with quality out to our customers on time

Desirable Requirements
  • Experience in logging/resolving defect issues using a tracking system (like Bugzilla) and source control like SVN preferable

  • Previous work experience in a distributed-team environment using Agile methodologies

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $240,000 - $310,000.
